Introduction

  • The internal quality assurance mechanism of the institution may be called “Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)”. The IQAC is meant for planning, guiding and monitoring Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Enhancement (QE) activities of the colleges.
  • Shri Purshottumdas Motibhai Patel College of Education (B.Ed) has been awarded “B” grade by NAAC.

Mission

  • To accomplish thirst and need of students teachers with their ability and skills to create qualitative & encouraging teaching-learning process and atmosphere in teacher education institute and schools.

Objectives

  • To import academic values through the teaching of the syllabus.
  • To train and drill trainees as skilled teachers .
  • To make the trainees aware of the school administration .
  • To develop inquisitive sense among the trainees for life’s skill,soft skill, e-culture and modern global academic trends.

Functions

Some of the functions expected of the IQAC are :-
 
  • Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution 
  • Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process
  • Arrangement for feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders    on quality-related institutional processes 
  • Dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education 
  • Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles 
  • Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement
  • Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities,   including adoption and dissemination of best practices
  • Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining/enhancing the institutional quality Devel nment of Quality Culture in the    institution
  • Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC, to be submitted to NAAC

1. Major Initiatives of IQAC for (2019-20):
2. IQAC Cell coordinated Periodic Staff meetings, Department meetings, Board of
    Studies, Academic Council
3. HOD's Appraisal by the Department Colleagues and Self-Appraisal by the
    Lecturer was conducted.
4. On 10th JUNE 2019 Orientation Programme was organized by Staff member.
5. A Number Of Seminars were attended by lecturers Organized  by various colleges.
6. Internship Guidence Programme was held from 10/6/2019 to 15/6/2019.
7. In association with Dark Horse Academy for Competitive Exams, Career Counselling Workshop was organized for the students.
8. From 18/6/2019 to 25/6/2019  Curricular activities and prayer practice are conducted and Guided by All Staff member for Subject Selection.
9. On 29th June Birthday  Competition was held by All Staff members.
10. Election of Student Central Committee  was Organized on 1st July 2019.
11. Guidence On Micro- teaching was given by the staff members from 4/7/2019 to 20/7/2019.
12. On 16th July Guru Purnima Celebrated by Studens and Staff memebers.
13. Co-curricular activities like Mahendi competition , Rangoli competition, Best out of west competition was organized on 15/7/2019 to           20/7/2019.
14. A guest lecture was organized under Jayshreemam Dixit on 22/7/2019.She talked  about Content Aanlysis and also presented her own      material and P.P.T.
15. A lecture on Women Empowerment was organized by women cell on 8/8/2019.
16. A Workshop on lesson planning was organized on the 5/8/2019.
17. On 10/8/2019 Patriotism Songs  Competition was arranged by the Students.
18. On 24th August 2019 Janmashtami was celebrated followed by entertainment programme by the students.
19. From 26/8/2019 to 4/9/2019 Stray Lesson was arranged by All Staff members.
20. On 5th September 2019 Teachers Day was celebrated followed by Programme by the students.
21. The College Website is updated with the regular Calendar of events and various activities.
22. Free Wi - Fi connection for staff.
23. Throughout the year so many Submission were explained to the students  by the professors. Like, Content Analysis, Workshop on Lesson    Planning, N.C.F, Text book Analysis ,Construction of text terms ,Survey of Five Children ,Book review, Test items, Teaching aids etc.
24. The Guest Lecture was arranged on 28/9/2019 to give information about Thelesemia.
25. Elocuted Competition on Reduce the use of plastic was Organized on 26th September 2019.
26. On 24th December Christmas Day  was Celebrated Followed by Entertainment programme by the        students.
25. On 22nd  January. 2019 , one day Out Reach Programme was organized and took visit to Orphanage.
26. On 8th March 2019 International Women's Day was celebrated . Two documentaries short films   based on real life women were shown to the students to instil the sense of empowerment and to touch   gender sensation issue . 
26. The Faculty members registered themselves and actively Participated on Moodle Learning Management System Scheduled On 15th March 2019 Conducted by IIT Bombay.

Future Plans

The primary focus of the institution’s activities is geared towards education and especially interdisciplinary education. The college encourages its faculty members to take up basic and applied research in different subject areas, especially in education. The research interests of its faculty ranges from cancer research to cognitive development in pre-school children including research in Physics, Mathematics Urbanization, Creative Education in Geography, Indian Writing in English, Computational Chemistry, Bengali Dialects, and Pedagogical Analysis. The institution aims to present it self as a demonstrator rather than a preacher. The college aims to demonstrate – Learning how to learn. It aspires to be a centre of teacher–education, research and development, and to extend its services to the community.
